Christopher Cross Becomes Chairman Emeritus at FourPoint

Please join us in celebrating Christopher Cross as he begins the next phase of his career as Chairman Emeritus at FourPoint Education Partners. For so many of us, Chris has been a friend, mentor, and source of clear-headed and impeccable advice and guidance over many decades. During his career, he has built an outstanding network of colleagues who can testify to his tremendous contributions to improving educational opportunities and experiences for students across the country.
Chris’ distinguished career included serving as Republican staff director for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Education and Labor, Assistant Secretary of Educational Research and Improvement at the U.S. Department of Education, President of the Maryland State School Board, and CEO of the Council for Basic Education before co-founding Cross & Joftus in 2004 (which became FourPoint Education Partners in 2017). He has served on numerous advisory boards, is a very active trustee of Whittier College, was a member of the National Commission on Time and Learning that produced the Prisoners of Time report in 1994, is the author of Political Education: Setting the Course for State and Federal Policy, and is currently serving as a distinguished senior fellow at the Education Commission of the States. At FourPoint, Chris has put this experience to use helping districts, states, nonprofits, and foundations improve educational policy and systems for all students.
We are thrilled that Chris has agreed to stay engaged with FourPoint as he devotes more time to friends and family and, of course, continues writing about education issues. We also hope that sometime soon he can resume his worldwide travel. You can still reach Chris at chris@fourpointeducation.com.
