James Fenton has over 20 years of experience helping school districts, colleges, and healthcare institutions develop and implement effective improvement initiatives. He is a certified expert in continuous process improvement as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (Rochester Institute of Technology – Hromi Center for Quality and Applied Statistics) and is an experienced strategy manager with the balanced scorecard methodology.
James held various cabinet positions including chief strategy officer and director of operations at the Rochester City School District (NY). He has also held various leadership positions at Honeywell Incorporated and has vast experience developing, leading, and managing large public capital projects. For example, his delivery and finance structure for the Niagara Falls High School (NY) project has been widely cited as an example of innovation in public/private partnerships and was the subject of a report of the Wall Street Journal. James sits on several nonprofit boards and is a frequent speaker at business, education, and continuous improvement events.
