Tricia Pastor Cross has more than 25 years of administrative and teaching experience in public education, as well as in leading state-funded, private, and non-profit early care and education programs within Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, and Sonoma counties in California. She currently serves on faculty and the administrator for the Cabrillo College Early Childhood Education Department and Cabrillo Children’s Center Demonstration Lab School for infants, toddlers and preschool age children. As her experience reflects, Tricia is deeply committed to leading and transforming high-quality early care and education programs. She has strengthened her knowledge of early care and education by actively serving as a council member and district representative for local committees and state-wide organizations. In addition, Tricia successfully facilitated the development of the first Transitional Kindergarten Classrooms in Santa Cruz County, a well-recognized and highly regarded program.
Throughout her career as a leader in early care and education and after school academic support programs for disadvantaged children and families, Tricia has also been closely involved with successful grant writing and advocacy projects leading to increased opportunities for the socio-economically and linguistically disadvantaged children and families.
